Frequently Asked Questions
-
Reformer Pilates is a full-body workout performed on a specialist machine called a reformer. Using springs for resistance, it helps build strength, improve posture, increase mobility, and support long-term wellbeing through controlled, mindful movement.
-
Yes – absolutely. Our classes are designed to be accessible for all levels. Instructors guide you through every exercise and offer modifications so you can move at your own pace.
-
Not at all. Reformer Pilates is about building strength, not already having it. We meet you where you are and support your progress from there.
-
Definitely. Reformer Pilates builds functional strength, mobility, and core stability — benefits that support everyone, regardless of gender or fitness background.
-
Yes – in most cases, you can continue doing reformer Pilates throughout pregnancy, right up until labour. Reformer Pilates is low-impact, controlled, and adaptable, making it a supportive way to move during this time.
Exercising while pregnant can help maintain strength, support posture as your body changes, reduce back pain, improve circulation, and support pelvic floor health. It can also boost energy, improve mood, and help you feel more connected to your body.
We recommend letting your instructor know you’re pregnant before class so we can provide appropriate modifications. If you’re unsure, or have any medical concerns, please seek guidance from your healthcare professional before attending.
-
Slow Flow is a slower-paced class focused on control, alignment, and deep muscle activation. Movements are performed with precision and intention, giving you time to connect with your breath, refine technique, and build strength in a controlled way. It’s ideal for people with injuries aches or pains, those returning to movement, or anyone wanting a more mindful session.
Dynamic Reformer is a more energetic, faster-paced class. It combines strength, stability, and flow with continuous movement patterns to elevate your heart rate and challenge coordination. You’ll still move with control, but expect a stronger burn and a more athletic feel.
-
In many cases, yes. Reformer Pilates is low-impact and often supportive for rehabilitation. Please inform your instructor before class so we can offer appropriate modifications. If you’re unsure, we recommend checking with a healthcare professional first.
-
Your instructor will introduce you to the reformer, explain how it works, and guide you through each movement step-by-step. There’s no pressure — just supportive coaching to help you feel confident and comfortable.
-
Wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in — leggings or shorts and a fitted top work best. Please do not attend bare foot. Grip socks are required for hygiene and safety.
-
We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your first class to allow time to check in and get familiar with the studio. After your first class, please arrive 5 minutes early.
-
There is no strict age limit for Reformer Pilates and have clients from the ages of 14 to 90 attending regularly! If you are under 18, you’re welcome to attend provided you are mature enough, tall enough to use the equipment safely, and accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
